This is open to qualified scuba divers who are keen to make a difference. The clean Up dive is part of a program that we are running in conjunction with Sea World Research & Rescue Foundation.
The 8th of March event will commence 1 hr before High Tide, meeting at 06:00 am for a HT at 07:16 am. We aim to be in the water at 7am, diving the Gold Coast Seaway, dive spot 1, SeaWorld Dr, Main Beach, Gold Coast. Dive time will be 55mins approximately with a minimum of 50 bar air at completion of the dive. The event will run for approximately 3hrs with "Dive Just do it - Smart" ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/Divejustdoitsmart/ ) providing breakfast for all participating divers after the dive.
There are limited spots available for each event so you need to register and bring a printed copy of your ticket and your Dive Card on the day. By attending the event, you are liable for your own personal safety, dive equipment, air-fills, food, and water & sun protection. While it is free to attend, any voluntary donations towards the cost of fuel, running costs, rubbish disposal and associated equipment will also to help to make a difference - Donate here.
More information will be provided to ticket holders closer to the event and the event as it is subject to weather conditions.
Remember, diver safety is our main concern and all divers need to be trained in the safe handling of debris & rubbish before diving. If any ticket holder has any concerns, they must contact the event organisers before attending the cleanup. You are responsible for your own safety and equipment at all times and the organisers & sponsors accept no liability or responsibility for your individual safety.
